The HD-DVD(a cheaper and less upscaled dvd version) was in fact manifactured back in the day... And was relatively made in comparison to blu-ray, when it was originally introduced.

The story goes: HD DVD (short for High Definition/Density Digital Versatile/Video Disc) is a discontinued high-density optical disc format for storing data and high-definition video. Supported principally by Toshiba, HD DVD was envisioned to be the successor to the standard DVD format.

In February 2008, after a protracted format war with rival Blu-ray Disc, Toshiba abandoned the format, announcing it would no longer develop nor manufacture HD DVD players or drives. The HD DVD Promotion Group was dissolved on March 28, 2008.

The HD DVD physical disc specifications (but not the codecs) were still in use as the basis for the China Blue High-definition Disc (CBHD) formerly called CH-DVD.

Because all variants except 3× DVD and HD REC employed a blue laser with a shorter wavelength, HD DVD stored about 3.2 times as much data per layer as its predecessor (maximum capacity: 15 GB per layer compared to 4.7 GB per layer).

HORROR

horrofying picture

Now. what MAKES a film scary..?? Many peoples have a certain interest for horrorfilms and otherwise scary movies in the terms of paranoia and the likes... But what actually MAKES a movie scary in terms of it's genre? - Jumpscares? Creeping? or perhaps just generally movies that makes you afraid of the dark?!

WHO knows?! because it's not easy, right?

When that's then been said, then there IS truthfully a majority of ways to determine whether a film is really a scary movie, or just a horrible lot of "meh" as some people pronounce it.

For one example: A Director, "David F. Sandberg" back in 2014 released a shortfilm titled "Light's Out" to experiment with Classic-Horror-grip's on people, and hear their reaction. And the short horror-flick won him the award, for "best instructor" at the "Who's There Film Challenge". People have been actively debating ever since it's release whether this film reall IS scary, or not... One person said "I am never turning my lights out again" as well as another who said "a scary as heck short flick! RUN MOTHERF*CKER, RUUUUUUUUN!".

Though a third person expressed, that the film weren't generally scary, but more like based itself, on multiple "scare-elements" so to speak... On whether this experiment Some people call movies containing basic jumpscares, a moviefilm. And furthermore some people determine that jumpscares are way too frequent of an occurrence as it is also taking place, in certain action flicks! But then again, the majority of people are scared of different things and events so to speak.

An experiment recently concluded that, a decent horrorfilm, should at least contain one of the following: Deaths.. Or FEAR of death in the least... these are what keeps the people aware for what might be coming, and that alone has a psychological effect!

darkness.. Dark rooms, corridors or HOUSES! ghost houses perhaps..?? It's one of the few things that provides people with the most suspense, as well as small creepers like, Spiders, snakes and don't forget the rats and worms now, either!! especially also, if those whatever creepers, are disfigured in variable ways, you know??

Futhermore... LIMBS! slimy gruesome and torn off monster/human limbs!!

while organic limbs may not necessarily be at the elements of surprise, they still gross people out to insane extends in some cases... Monster limbs OR human limbs for that matter usually doesn't matter for the majority of flicks.

ROMANCE

Now, what makes a good and romantic film for us..? Many people(Especially the female part),

enjoy a good romance... However, many romantic films feels "stuffed" with emotional scenes, without much else whatsoever connections with the rest of the plot, thus making them feel outta place, for the most part...

First of all, in order for a possible romance movie/novel to be done right done right, they should at least contain have a thoroughly decent story, and have enough content with it, all while at the same time not containing too MUCH story material to go with it, obviously? else it could run the possible risk of making it all seem like, "filler" at the very best.so to speak...

To the point of where it'll eventually no longer have it's inevitable emotional effect, on the viewer. That fantasy of longing for your one and all perfect soulmate,

a couple loving each other

is perhaps the reason love-stories are so remarkably perfect interesting to many... Also then, a more important factor in the matter, is probably the sex.

Yes, the sex. Another point that may very well seem obvious, but many people have in fact reached heigh levels of frustration all waiting for that big moment, in movies... And waiting for their so-called romance to take action.

But actually the part of it, that has the most memorable effect, is everything leading up TO sex, in the matter, the culmination of emotions taking speed, and a romance building.

These points, are what keeps the most people's attention actively concentrated on the experience and strengthens the film they're watching's adventure when it comes to a good romance, inside movies.

SEX. LUST. and LOVE... A few good film's combinations of the following three, has sparked wide population globaly..! Twilight, Highschool musical and thus not forgetting, the world-known romance-hit. Titanic from 1997.

- Action films and Sci-fi films... or just a good combination of both! Many "action" deemed movie-flicks very occasionally has a good mix of both action, drama and horror! -But alright for a second here, lets try and just stick with the "action" subject on its own...

One of the best and most beloved series, among action-movie fanatics, is the 2012 movie "Dredd. Dredd is this generation's kind of over the top-like explosive action flick here today.

The movie's visual effects and slow-motion sequences induced by Slo-Mo received broad praise from it's viewers as well as blaze of saturated colours, gorgeous high-resolution close-ups and dazzling slow-motion sequences drove Dredd in and won The Art of 3D award at the 2013 Empire Awards, and was in fact, nominated for Best British Film and Best Science-fiction/Fantasy on top of it!

NEXT UP!- When action related our next biggest recommendation is on the agency level, With James Bond's "Goldeneye

from 1995!- film accumulated a total gross of US$350.7 million back in it's days! Making one of THE best performing actions-flicks of the century! And therefore makes this an obvious recommendation by, Your-Hobby-Store!

Now, Third up, we have "Spider-man" from 2002! This masterpiece of a hollywood film by Sam Raimi, scored over a massive $783 million worldwide at the box office! also went as far as to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects back in it's day, and 3 movies were made in total as follow-up movies to the series's universe before it was cancelled due to risks of broken contract deals, thus never making it far enough to reach the full 7 number of movies that were originally planned out, to actual completion of it's story. This making it a worthy mentioning for it's generation here at, Your-Hobby-Store.

Horror films! The spooky kind or the gory!? Well i suppose you fans wouldn't mind a good combination of both if it's just done right... Who would??

Now then, a good and well considered slasher AND horrofilm which is also a remake, is "Friday the 13th" from the year 2009. this remake retells the story of Jason Voorhees's terrorising from BEFORE he happens to wear his hockey mask. The film was in fact originally conceived as an origin story, but the project was instead evolved into a re-imagining of the first four Friday the 13th films, thus it being a worthy film-night sacrifice here on our scala as it was indeed also, well received when it first came out.

SECOND we have, 2006's infamous horror-flick "see no evil" starring "Kane", the famous wrestler(real name "Glenn Thomas Jacobs")

This horror-slasher film, Has an overall incredible mix of horror, gore and suspense... But although this movie being quite a classic for it's genre, the movie actually received The film has received overwhelmingly negative reviews, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 8% overall rating ("Rotten") based on 59 reviews and a consensus stating "See No Evil is packed with cliches from countless other teen slasher films, making for a predictable, scare-free waste of time." despite the film grossing $4,581,233 from just 1,257 theaters! and furthermore went on to gross $15,003,884 at the U.S box office on a budget of only $8,000,000! making it worth at least a try, in our opinion, here at Your-Hobby-Store.

And now at last..! 2015's megahit "It Follows". It earned $163,453 in its opening weekend from four theaters at an average of $40,863 per theater, making it the best limited opening for a film released in 2015!

It Follows received critical acclaim,[24] with critics praising the acting, plot, score, and old-fashioned scares. It currently holds a 96% approval rating on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes based on 160 reviews. The critical consensus states: "Smart, original, and above all terrifying, It Follows is the rare modern horror film that works on multiple levels — and leaves a lingering sting." On Metacritic, the film has an 83/100 rating based on 37 critics, indicating "universal acclaim"
